  1. 34:38 – If you have ski and snowboard jackets and/ or pants, I suggest listing them through mid March or longer. Not regular winter coats, but once that are especially made for skiing, etc.. Spring skiing will continue on into May and possibly June and people who are planning a trip will buy them from eBay because most retail stores have already moved on from winter items. Ski wear is one of my specialties if anyone has any questions. πŸ™‚
    <3 you guys from Colorado!

  2. Or maybe you have a Mercedes but you need to get the hoodie off eBay because now you’re broke from fixing your Mercedes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ (it’s my case if you replace the word Mercedes with bmw lol)

  3. Hopefully y’all will get some better sells going soon. Always happy to see y’all πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ˜β€οΈ

  4. Yes! I would tune in for ANY video you guys make. It doesn't HAVE to be about work. πŸ™‚ You know we are all big fans of your kids too! (Holly said HI LUKE! and she would love to hit the bins with Rose sometime!)

  5. great idea to crosspost everything, thats what i do! sharing your closet on posh is about #1 thing you can do, i would pay your kids a little bit each day to do it a few times a day!

  6. I sell way more on Mercari than ebay ..Christmas was slow on ebay but booming on Mercari. What if you dont Crosspost just list different items on the different platforms. Thats what I do out of the same fear of them going at the same time or forgetting to delete the item off the other platform! πŸ™‚

  7. Some sellers, flippin hippos, for example say that since the mess with item specifics in October sales have not been the same. I am presently teaching myself Poshmark.
(old dog = new trick) HaHa We'll see how it goes.

  8. If you try the consignment shop start small. Bring only 10-12 items and expect to come back later that day or the next day. When I first went to Clothes Mentor and Plato's they both said not to bring a lot until you get used to what they are looking for. I hope you are able to find your new niche. Have you thought about trying estate sales? Maybe going last day so stuff is discounted.

  9. Reading a bit of the eBay investor/stock info, projections and performance analysis, they suggested that one of the bigger drags on sales has been the relatively new (and still expanding State by State) sales tax collection. I think that has indeed has taken a toll. When I look at what I sell an item for and then by the time shipping AND taxes are added it sometimes is significantly increased. As shipping cost has continued to increase year after year and then that added tax number….I notice that it is affecting my eBay purchases …admittedly, I am on an extremely tight budget, but nonetheless… What are others thinking about this???

  10. I started offering free returns when eBay 'insisted' and my return rate has not changed, remaining under 2%. I think that the optimization and buyer confidence merits the small cost. HOWEVER I sell almost no clothing. I think it could be a killer to clothing sellers and understand completely why you choose not to offer it. Even I do not offer on a few large (very high shipping cost) items.

  11. I would list the Eileen Fisher higher. I sold a silk pants on Poshmark overnight for over $30. Good job switching it up. You will do well.

  12. Hey guys! Love your videos and want to thank you for helping the community so much with your experience and honesty. I sent you a DM on Insta with a suggestion about crosslisting. Hope sales pick up for your guys!

  13. I really enjoy you two please never change your perfectly great as you are 😍😍 but I’m going to watch whatever y’all do πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ»

  14. reselling apparel isn't what it used to be from a few years back so cross listing to a second platform is crucial. Also, I'm looking to add in a third category in addition to clothing and shoes to help make more sales. I want to attract a different type of customer to my store so if apparel is slow the other would make up for it. Good Luck!

  15. I crosspost Posh and Mercari almost universally with a few EBAY listings. I haven’t had any problems with selling on two platforms. I’m pretty used to immediately canceling on the other platforms

  16. Dayton Ohio got rid of the bulk discount, at our bins, a couple weeks ago. We have had a very generous one for years.

  17. I usually bundle bras. You can also look up the type of bras that do give a better return. Some VS bras sell for 25 everyday on PM. Thank you for sharing your haul. I love to hear you both while I am working. πŸ˜€

  18. Where is the sales report that your talking about? I pretty much base my price on the retail, and what solds say.

  19. I know you don't want to call eBay, but give them a call and ask a basic question (about almost anything) and thank them, be nice, etc. Then fill out their survey when you get it in your email. Within a day or two your sales will increase. Anytime I'm slow I call eBay and ask about something and sales increase. Don't know or care, why, but it works.

  20. ive sold on ebay for 20 years. it has been slow for almost 2 years…dont know why. i list on 4 platforms…a little extra work, but it gives me more sales.

  21. I know everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I've been staying away from the bin until we find out if this virus is going to be able to be contained.

  22. Put together reseller boxes and sell them or mystery boxes they sell well on Posh. You could even put together sized boxes, like 5 sized XL stuff for 35.00 or 30.00, people will buy it.

  23. My eBay numbers are the lowest they’ve been since going full time three years ago, Posh has really helped pick up the slack.

  24. I have had mixed results from thredUP. When stuff sells for 80 cents, it’s not even covering what you paid at the bins.

  25. there is a problem with ebay, this is what i see from my end, if i use my phone i can look at what ever a seller has listed, but half the time when i use my computer it'll bring up like 20 items or less and that's it. i can only really search items, that still works right but like yous under greatclothesfinds last time i was surfing ebay only showed me 8 items, they're all there right now but not always. with my disabilities i can't easily use the phone to surf so i use the laptop to shop. it may be a problem on my end but i'm thinking it's ebay's problem

  26. I am really new to online sales. But I can tell you I cross post to make this work. I sell on Mercari. Ebay and Poshmark . I have a VA I could share with you. She was my store manager for 6 years. Just to get all listed. I tell you what I sell more on Mercari and Poshmark than Ebay.

I am afraid Ebay is going down under a little. Hopefully the new CEO is taking time to make great changes and it will pick up again.

Another good Avenue is selling stuff you have overflow to consignments. I have a friend that's all she does. She can go out do bins and bag sales and go to consignment stores and make $500 in 2 days.

I want to learn more about that myself.

  27. My eBay has been really slow also. I have always posted to eBay – Poshmark- and mercari
I find that you need to price higher on posh to send out offers and mercari seems to do better with hard goods , purse, shoes, and anything except clothes. Maybe that’s just me

  28. What are your thoughts about some big retailers now selling used clothing? Nordstrom is one. Scary. To me, it seems really telling of what’s to come for us in terms of not being set apart from retail as we always have been. Things are changing. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜©

  29. EBay is so slow but we just got to take it and go with the flow every seller has it's good months and then come the slowe months thanks to Michelle & G for putting up new videos almost everyday it keeps me motivated to keep on going with eBay I am glad to be a part of this youtube family and a friend of their family πŸ™‚

  30. I work full-time and have five online stores. I've been selling clothing on Ebay for about 10 years. I really believe the slow sales are due to the cross-posting programs that have come out. I use ListPerfectly and it's awesome. I can list to at least 7 platforms in a matter of minutes. Well, a whole lot of other people are doing the same thing and are now on platforms that they never would have tried before. So basically there's a really large influx of new sellers on all platforms. I believe the algorithms favor new sellers in order to keep them on the platform. This is just my theory, but ever since ListPerfectly became so popular, I've been reading about and hearing about more long time sellers noticing slower sales and drops in sales, even sellers like you with large inventories online. This is not a criticism of cross-posting, but I think this is the result of making it so easy. Like I said, just my theory and it could be all wrong, but the timing of it's release and the complaints I see online all started around the same time. It's just a lot more new competition on all platforms.

  31. No offense but your shooting yourself in the foot refusing to do free shipping and returns , your selling used clothing for goodness sakes smh πŸ˜‚πŸ’€

  32. EBAY has been total s**t lately!!! I have not sold ANYTHING on EBay but my Mercari and Poshmark are GREAT! I’ve NEVER had something sell on both platforms at the same time! Good luck!!!! EBAY is a sinking ship πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸš’

  33. I love your videos. Thank you so much for doing them. I talked to a reseller at the bins who sold vintage t shirts on Etsy. He said he did pretty well. Possibly another idea for you. Multiple platforms( Michelle I agree with you is scary) but I'm going to do it also. Another thing I thought I might try is flipping furniture! Just a few ideas. Hope they help!

  34. List perfectly is everything and I just downgraded to the 30 dollar a month only difference is I have to add price and stuff on posh. I list everything on ebay cross post to posh. I also started a second poshmark account for just mens.

  35. Highly suggest adding some more hard goods in. I am an Indy hard-goods seller and my sales are higher than ever! There are so many clothing platforms & sellers now and that brings the demand down for clothing unless it's something special. Clothing is the easiest sellers market to get into and the easiest to source, so that should say a lot. I have a hard time finding hard-goods sellers on YouTube, instagram, etc…even harder finding any who are aren't doing retail arbitrage. That just goes to show that supply is more scarce for those types of items. Start easy, work on gaining an area of expertise. Collectors always have money no matter what the economy is doing and they are willing to pay a premium to get what they have been waiting for. You are in a great market to source no matter what you sell. You could also easily wholesale full-time – and probably would love the excuse to shop more often. There's opportunity waiting in every situation – go get yours!

  36. ebay is looking like they are going to possibly be forced to sell off to make things right with the shareholders at some point. They were already forced into selling off Stubhub and I think the Classified section of their business due to stockholder pressures. Been reading some stuff that's coming up online in the news and Ebay keeps popping up with the financial sector of news outlets, it's even being talked about more and more on ebay's discussion boards. The more or less were making promises to their shareholders and managed payments was supposed to be one of the things that were supposed to pull things from going south and it's not appearing to be working.

  38. Have you thought about uploading videos daily, even just by dividing longer videos into two parts? It would bring in more AdSense. πŸ’΅

  39. Keep on , Keep on…keep doing You Tube, we love you bunches…Always keeping it real, thank you!! Move to Oregon!! πŸ™‚

  40. Keep the face guys! Things will turn around. Moving is expensive. Do more day trips to bins where you can pick different inventory. Go into some wholesale small appliances. Think outside of the box!!

  41. Jan & February are usually the wose fiscal month of the year, I learned that in a business class I took. I also think more people are reselling and thirfting it has become the cool thing and I agree it has slowed down bc of it and has effected the market I have noticed. Like I have shared my ways to my family and others, but now they dont look to buy from me, they go hunt for their things. I know it's good for the environment and I love reselling but the market is becoming different let's hope we can still be able to profit. You should try selling to platos indy east to at least make your bins cost back then sell the rest. I have luck at that store if you think Jr. Brands like, F21, Nike, underarmour, American Eagle, hollister, ect. I fo great with fred people if you guys don't do well with it I'll buy it. Haha

  42. I've had stuff priced low just to clear it out- relisted at a higher price and sold! Go figure. I do it just to sell my own stuff- but still don't want to waste time or $. Never been able to figure it out. ALWAYS LOVE to see the kiddos! Haven't seen Danny in a long time.

  43. Hi Guys, it’s Kellye from Arkansas hang in there my sales are really slow too. My Mom said people tend to hold onto their money during election years out of fear of the unknown. Things are going to be better thinking positive thoughts for you. I wanted to mention please put the word Country in your Ralph Lauren listing there’s quite a following for that line, should fetch a pretty penny. Good Luck πŸ’•πŸ˜Š

  44. Does your bin have hard goods? Mine sells a bin of hard goods for 99 cents and that's where the money is at a lot of the time. The channel PartTimePicker is GREAT for learning about selling hard goods. I think just maybe adding some of this stuff in could really help profits.

  45. vintage 90's clothing sells great on poshmark. I sold a pair of vintage nike challenge court shorts for 165 on poshmark.

  46. Ebay was really slow for me for the month of January. 78% of my sales were from poshmark and 22% ebay last month. And I have the most items listed on Ebay than I ever have. I have no idea why Ebay is so slow.

  47. I think you just need a better bins. Deciding to move might be a great choice! Also I cross post everything I can on both poshmark and ebay. You just never know which platform it will sell on.

  48. Sorry you are stressing. I can only imagine with your large family. I think you only need to buy good, current things. Not getting stuff β€œjust get stuff”. I don’t think it often happens when an item β€œsells twice β€œ. You need to do what you need to do to support your family. ❀️

  49. Are you still planning to move. Free shipping is a big draw. Just have to figure it in your cost. No returns as well is a deterrent to lots of people.

  50. I have had same issue my bread butter items I sold a year ago brought good profit but not anymore it’s hard to change gears and rethink everything I list now. Definitely frustrating I now have to pay up more to get decent profit unlike last year

  51. It’s 2020. Things were VERY DIFFERENT when you started. The ones selling and making money are younger and social media is EVERYTHING! Lots of sales go right through Instagram.

  52. I think that there are sooo many resellers that the market is flooded w/used clothing & it's taking a toll on everybody's sales. I don't know if you watch my videos but I have been going to the GW STORE, not the outlet on a Monday & just shop the two sale color tags which are .49c & $1 per item. I don't usually buy full price unless it is something really special. I find some really good stuff. Also I think the Thred-Up mixed clothing boxes are a really good source for good items at a reasonable price. Plus they make good video content, it's like a win win.

  53. Love you guys! Being straight up honest. But having positive thinking and switching up your selling strategy sounds like it’s going to work. Ramble anytime! 😘

  54. Only once in 2 years did I have something sell overnight on 2 different sites… now 95% of everything I list is cross posted to at least 2 sites, if not all 3.

  55. I have been sending excess to instead of thredup…. swap leaves it up for a year as opposed to 90 days and will take some of the more basic items. Not great money but better than nothing and for me it seems better than Thredup

  56. Ebay is so hit and miss for me lately. I'll have a couple of great days, followed by a couple of bad days. It "wakes up" for a few hours where I get bids and purchases, then crickets the rest of the day. Like you, we've decided to purchase only things that we think we can get a certain price. I do free returns and it hasn't been too bad. The good part about it is that you do get certain protections by offering it. It might be worth looking into. I sell mostly vintage clothes.

  57. Cleaning shoes and polishing shoes/bags, make huge difference to buyers on Poshmark. Watch Lori Tata, Lori’s Boston Found. She has great tips for Poshmark and a great closet.

  58. ThredUP takes way too much money. Watch Jack Valentines video on issues with ThredUP. Lots of people staying away. I guess for high end stuff the RealReal is the way to go.

  59. Most people list on posh and eBay, people always make offers on Poshmark so you don’t have to worry about double sales. I saw that Goodwill listed on their own auctions now

  60. I think the CoronaVirus is scaring people who would normally be shopping, they might be putting money into extra food and things like that. This will pass, but not really quickly. A pandemic means the whole world will be crazy and online shopping will be very difficult for a long time. That being said, the best day I ever had on eBay was 911. People were just wanting normal in their day.

  61. I'm not sure how you can be puzzled by low sales. The used resell clothing market is absolutely swamped with Ebay, Posh, Mercari, FB local and IG sales plus low cost seller boxes and bulk buys not including all our thrift shops in town for buyers. You've already agreed to sell out SUPER cheap last week to clear out, so have others. There are soooo many You Tubers telling others how and what to sell, maybe 100+ now with shows. Sure, you can make $ but how much per hour are you actually making if you include your shop, clean, list, store, ship time? Sure we want to shop all the time, that's a dopamine effect, our brain gives us a high when we shop. Let's get real though, are you making enough $ to live on?

  62. Thanks for the shout out! πŸ™‚ I always do the return assurance on normal boxes so they keep nothing of mine πŸ™‚

  63. I've been selling on eBay for 20 years and it has been so slow!!! I'm afraid about the slower summer season if it is this slow now. I have put my clothes on Poshmark since Christmas and I've sold some items on there. I have other things on both eBay & Mercari. I delete the item immediately on the other sites…I was worried if it sells on more than one during the night. However if it happens will deal with it then. I won't spend the program that does it for you. I just list on eBay first and then copy/paste description on the other sites.

  64. PINK VS sell very well on Poshmark …especially unique styles / prints …sometimes full price … don’t list low at first πŸ’•

  65. Maybe you want to have a Mercedes, and you start out with the jacket…….πŸ˜‚. I've been cross listing for a year and a half. It's the only way I've survived selling clothing. I'm done with new clothing. I'm only buying used if it's $3 or less…I may pay $5 if it has strong comps. Clothing is hard to sell. It's a commodity. I'm about 40 to 50 percent sales from Mercari and Poshmark. Best sales dollars are from eBay, hands down. However fees wise, eBay is just as high as Poshmark, even higher depending on promoted listing percent. I can't make any traction on eBay without promoting at 5 percent or more. eBays making bank by increasing what they collect from sellers. I don't see that changing any time soon. Therefore, I would rather promote and make sales, than not. Too much clothing competition out there.

  66. I'm glad it's not just me!!!! I've never been this poor in my life! Here's what I think…order not important:
    1. Sales tax
    2. Mark my words, one of these days ebay will crash bigtime. Patch after patch, adding code over code over the years. It's a dinosaur. All these item specifics are a pain!
    3. Okay, just like we have no sales before certain holidays, the country is in the middle of an impeachment. People are predicible and they are worried. People don't shop when they are worried or angry.
    4. Worries about coronavirus.

  67. 8:24 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣You don't even have to wear deodorant, it's already on it.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
    Here's a couple ideas:
    Sell on instagram
Make regular for sale youtube videos.
Are there any career clothes rental places in indy? They need clothes.

  68. For cross posting, try Vendoo. Right now, it is free, don't know if it will stay that way, but it is for now. Super easy!! If I can do you, I know you guys can. Hugs, Joanne

  69. I still get bras and swimwear, but you're right nothing sells as well. I sold a Panache 38H swim top recently for $11, it was "like new" and retail for it was $68. I think I paid $5 or $6 for it because I go to regular goodwill so after Posh fees, I made like $3 or so. I live in Florida and a lot of people we know travel to go skiing for Spring Break…by that time, it's hard to find ski clothing down here, so it seems like that would be good to have listed.
